Mediaextractr respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website and downloader, how we use it, and the choices you have.
You do not need an account to use Mediaextractr, and we do not ask for your name, password or payment details to download content.
2. Information we collect
- Links you submit: the URL you paste so we can fetch the requested video or image.
- Contact messages: your name, email address and message if you use our contact form.
- Websites you download from: for each link you look up or download, which website it is (for example youtube.com), the link, the quality you chose and whether it worked.
- AI-app requests: if you use Mediaextractr from Claude or ChatGPT, the requests your assistant sends to Mediaextractr (the links and options) and Mediaextractr’s replies, with a time. We do not see the rest of your chat.
- Activity: what you do on Mediaextractr, such as the links you look up or download, sign-ins, coupon use, MCP connections and the pages you visit, each with a time. When you are signed in this is linked to your account. Before you sign in, it is linked only to a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address or device ID, never the address itself.
- Technical data: browser type, device and pages visited, collected through server logs and standard analytics.
- Cookies: small files used to keep the site working and to understand how it is used.
3. How we use information
- To process your request and deliver the file you asked for.
- To reply to your enquiries and provide support.
- To keep the Service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- To understand usage and improve performance and features.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Downloaded files
We do not keep copies of the media you download beyond the short time needed to process and deliver it. We do keep a record that a download happened, with the link, the time and whether it worked, so we can apply free-download limits, give support and keep the service secure.

We keep information only for as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect it, but no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.
8. Your rights

9. Children’s privacy
Mediaextractr is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us and we will delete it.
